Maninni Decks

An Italian word meaning
"many little hands".
An apt description indeed for this deck of Tarot
cards, as it was created by members of a diverse group of people from around the
world, most of whom have never met any of the other members.
This deck, believed to be the first of its kind, was created by an Internet discussion group. A variety of artistic media were used - watercolor, collage, computer graphics and hand-drawn images - all combined to produce a unique compilation of works that truly represents the collective personality of this global group.
The group began in 1996 with
approximately 20 members, all devotees of the study of Tarot. It pulled together individuals who had heretofore only been able to study the subject alone, or within a very limited circle of other like-minded people.
From the original 20 members, the circle has grown to over 100 subscribers, providing a rich variety of enlivening, invigorating discourse. The group comprises a wide range of knowledge and experience, from beginners to published scholars. Truly an egalitarian community, ideas, comments and opinions are welcomed and encouraged from all members. [*note: 500+ members as of Summer 2000]
From its history as a parlor game, to its
evolution as a divinatory tool, to its more modern development as a means for
self-development and awareness, Tarot provides a tempting and elaborate plate of
discussion delicacies from which this group can choose.
We hope you enjoy
this miniature gallery of diverse works. And if, as has happened to many of us
in the group, an image touches your soul, calls to you from some unknown and
unexplored place within, we invite you to join us in our exploration of this
endless and fascinating adventure.
